## Description

Aldwych reads like a well-set legal journal: ivory paper, oxblood and deep green, Playfair Display headlines with italic emphasis and Libre Franklin text, a centered masthead with the menu on a double rule, drop caps and roman-numeral section numbering. No rounded corners, no shadows, no gimmicks.

Built in, with no plugins needed beyond the free Secure Custom Fields for editing the details:

* Practice areas, matters (case studies), people, testimonials, fee plans, questions and your firm's details (address, hours, regulator registration), shared with every Symelo business theme.
* The practice index: practice areas set like a book's table of contents, with dotted leaders to the number of lawyers and matters in each.
* A register of anonymised matters, an alphabetical people directory with search and practice group filter, a recognition wall for directory rankings, and a fees and first-consultation FAQ grouped by topic.
* Designed templates for practice pages (overview, what the practice covers, how a matter runs, its lawyers and matters, questions and a consultation request), matters, profiles, the archives, articles and a "Legal page" template with numbered clauses for your terms and privacy notice.

## Frequently Asked Questions

#### Where do consultation requests go?

Every form stores its messages under Messages in the dashboard and emails them to the address set in Messages → Settings (the site's admin email by default). A form block can also send to its own recipients: select it in the editor and fill in "Email to".

#### How do I show the number of lawyers in a practice area?

The practice index counts the people whose Department (practice group) has the same slug as the practice area or its category, and the matters that list the practice area under Services.

#### How do I add the regulator line and registration number?

Under Business → Business details, fill in Registration (for example "SRA number 000000"). It appears in the footer. The regulator sentence is part of the footer and can be edited in the Site Editor.

#### Can visitors switch to dark mode?

Yes. The toggle in the header switches between the light and dark schemes and remembers the choice; without a choice the visitor's system setting is used.

#### How do I make the practice pages look like the demo?

Appearance → Import demo installs sample practice areas, matters, people, questions, pages and a menu, and removes them again with one click.
