## Description

Commonfold is made for small, volunteer-run groups whose website is a noticeboard first: what's on this week, how to get help, how to join in, the current community project and how to find the hall. Every section is a set of solid colour tiles of different sizes, in big confident wide type, with chunky pills, map-pin and calendar icons and the odd tilted sticker.

Built in, no plugins needed for the design:

* What's on: events as a weekly timetable (weekday, date, place, price or a green Free tag), with filters for upcoming or past events and focus areas, a "This week" hero with colour date tiles and a ticker of event titles.
* Activities and services: regular sessions as a timetable with Monday to Sunday chips read from each activity's schedule.
* Community projects: progress tiles with a big percentage, gift chips and a Donate button that links to your donation page.
* Join in: volunteer roles with filters and a volunteer application form (anchor #apply).
* The committee: a grid of colour monogram tiles (or photos).
* Our space and Find us: the map (loads only after a click), opening hours and accessibility notes.
* Noticeboard: a masonry of mixed tiles with the latest news, the next event, volunteers wanted and a lost-and-found request form.
* Forms: contact, newsletter, volunteer and request forms, kept under Messages and emailed to you.
* Five hero layouts, galleries with a lightbox (masonry and carousel), video, FAQ, testimonials, figures that count up, a supporters ticker, two footers and complete About, Contact, Get involved, What's on and home page layouts.
* Light and dark schemes with a toggle, and four style variations: Sunflower, Allotment, Night market and High contrast.
* Demo content imports in one click (Appearance > Import demo).

Commonfold uses the free Secure Custom Fields plugin for the details of events, activities, projects, roles and the organization (it offers to install it). Without it, everything still renders and empty fields simply don't show.

Donations are taken on your donation platform; the theme only links to it. It never processes payments.

## Frequently Asked Questions

#### Where do form messages go?

Every form submission is kept under Messages in the dashboard and emailed to the address in Messages > Settings (or the site's admin email). To send one form somewhere else, select the form block and fill in "Email to". The request form on the noticeboard keeps messages under Messages without emailing by default; switch "Email the submission" on in its settings to change that.

#### How do the day chips on activities work?

They are read from the activity's Schedule field: "Monday to Saturday", "Tuesdays and Thursdays", "Mon–Fri", "weekends" or "daily" light up the right days. Schedules without days (for example "Monthly walks") show no chips.

#### Where do I set the opening hours, address and phone number?

The address, phone, email and registration number come from Organization in the dashboard (with Secure Custom Fields). The opening hours and accessibility notes are plain text in the patterns: edit them in the editor.

#### How do I change the donate link?

Organization > Donations sets the site-wide link and label; each community project can have its own link.

#### Can I turn the animations off?

Visitors who prefer reduced motion get no animations, and the ticker and logo strip stop moving. To remove an effect, select the block and clear it in the Motion panel.

#### How does dark mode work?

The toggle in the header switches between light and dark and remembers the choice; without a choice the site follows the visitor's system setting. Each style variation has its own dark palette. The Night market variation is dark already, so it hides the toggle.
