## Description

Cordia is a block theme for family practices, specialist clinics and medical centres. It is designed for patients of every age: large, high-contrast type set in Atkinson Hyperlegible Next (made for low-vision readers), Fraunces headings, generous spacing, a thick focus ring and tap targets of at least 44 pixels. A frosted header stays in reach with the appointment button, and a slim top bar shows the emergency number, whether the clinic is open right now and the phone number.

Built in, no page builder needed:

* Practitioners: profiles with photo (or elegant initials), role, credentials, specialties, languages, locations, weekly availability, education, and whether they accept new patients.
* Services and treatments: icon, price (including "from" prices), duration, insurance cover, preparation and aftercare, questions and answers, photo galleries, and who provides them.
* Locations: address with directions, phone, email, opening hours with lunch breaks, holidays and an "open now" status that stays correct on cached pages, accessibility and transport notes, and a map that loads only after a click.
* Find a doctor: search and filters by name, specialty, language, location and new patients; services by price and duration, with sorting.
* Appointment requests: a short form that preselects the service or practitioner from every "Book" button, asks for no medical details and keeps requests under Messages in wp-admin.
* Insurance and fees: insurers, payment methods and a fees note from Settings → Clinic details.
* Patient testimonials with ratings, an emergency notice, structured data for search engines (MedicalClinic, Person, Service, FAQ).
* Light and dark schemes with a switch, four style variations, more than 50 patterns, galleries with a lightbox, video, motion that respects reduced-motion settings.
* One-click demo content: Appearance → Import demo creates a two-site clinic with eight practitioners, ten services, testimonials and the Home, About, Contact, Book and Fees pages.

Practitioners, services and opening hours are kept with the free Secure Custom Fields plugin, which Cordia offers to install and activate in one click. Everything still displays without it.

## Frequently Asked Questions

#### Where do appointment requests and messages go?

They are stored under Messages in wp-admin and emailed to the address under Settings → Clinic details → Appointment requests (or Messages → Settings, then the site's admin email). The form deliberately asks for no medical details.

#### How do I set the opening hours and "open now"?

Edit a location (Locations in wp-admin): add one row per set of days with the same hours, two rows for a lunch break, and holidays under "Holidays and special hours". "Open now" uses the time zone under Settings → General.

#### How do "Book" buttons know the service?

Choose your appointment page under Settings → Clinic details. Every Book button links there with the service or practitioner preselected. A service or practitioner can also have its own online booking link.

#### Can I change the emergency notice?

Yes, under Settings → Clinic details → Emergency notice: the text, the number (shown as a tap-to-call link) and an optional link, or switch it off.

#### Dark mode and animations?

The switch in the header follows the visitor's system setting until they choose. Animations are gentle and switch off when the visitor's device asks for reduced motion.
