Overview
A bold industrial theme for construction, civil engineering and contractors: project portfolios, capabilities, safety record and big numbers set in condensed type.
Ironbridge is a block theme for general contractors, civil and structural engineering firms, builders and fit-out companies. Concrete grey pages, near-black bands, safety yellow fills, hazard stripe dividers, chamfered plates and huge condensed numerals that count up.
- Projects with a drawing-style spec sheet (client, sector, location, programme, year), the challenge, solution and results, site photo carousel and related projects in the same sector.
- A project finder: search, filter by sector or capability and sort by year, on the archive and as a pattern.
- Capabilities with icons, prices, what's included, delivery steps, questions and an inquiry form.
- Leadership profiles on black cards, a company timeline, a safety record band with accreditations, a sectors index with project counts.
- "Invite us to tender" form (scope list fills itself from your capabilities), an inquiry form, a news signup. Messages are stored under Messages in wp-admin and emailed to you.
- Five heroes, about 30 patterns, five full page layouts (home, about, projects, careers, contact) and a Careers page template.
- Light concrete and Night Shift dark scheme with a switch in the header, plus Hi-Vis Orange, Blueprint and Steel style variations.
- No page builder. Business content uses the free Secure Custom Fields plugin for editing; pages render without it.
Questions
Where do form messages go?
Every form submission is saved under Messages in wp-admin and emailed to the site administrator. Change the recipients under Messages → Settings, or per form in the form block's settings.
Where do I set the phone number, address and opening hours?
Under Business → Business details. The header's utility bar, the footer, the contact block, the map and the "Invite us to tender" buttons read them from there.
How do I add a project code like PRJ-2031?
Set the project's Year field: Ironbridge shows it as the project code on cards, panels and the project page.
Can I turn off the animations?
Visitors who ask their system for reduced motion see everything without animation. You can remove motion classes from any block in the editor's Motion panel.
Dark mode?
The header switch toggles between the concrete light scheme and Night Shift, and remembers the choice. Choose the Night Shift style variation to make the site dark for everyone.
