## Description

Parlo is made for language schools, tutors and independent teachers who teach in person and online: group classes by CEFR level, conversation clubs, exam preparation (IELTS, DELE, DELF), one-to-one lessons and summer immersion trips. Warm cream paper, terracotta and sea blue, Young Serif headlines and Onest text, cards that look like postcards with a perforated stamp edge, round rubber-stamp level badges and a slow marquee of "hello" in many languages.

* **Courses** with price and sale price, CEFR level, duration, format (online, in person, hybrid), schedule, language, certificate, a curriculum with free preview videos, what you'll learn, what's included, questions, learner reviews, start dates with seats left, a gallery, the venue on a map and a trailer.
* **A course page** shaped like a travel ticket: the enroll stub, section links, start dates, teachers, reviews and the inquiry, place request or waitlist form.
* **A course catalog** with filters for language, level, format, price and sorting, plus language and level pages.
* **Teacher profiles** with the languages they teach as round code badges, credentials, quote and their classes (monograms when there is no photo).
* **Language-school sections**: a level ladder from A1 to C2, a weekly conversation club timetable, a departure board of upcoming classes, an immersion trip spotlight with a map, a "Which level am I?" mini quiz and a placement test form.
* **Forms without plugins**: placement test, level advice, course inquiries, contact and newsletter. Messages are stored in wp-admin → Messages, with spam protection.
* **45+ patterns**: five heroes (level finder with the hello marquee, postcard collage, background video, placement quiz, departure board), course grids, levels, teachers, reviews, numbers, FAQ, galleries, video, forms, a journal, and full Home, About, Contact, Placement test, Trips, Gallery, Videos and landing pages.
* **Demo content in one click**: Appearance → Import demo creates a language school with nine courses, five teachers, six languages, the CEFR levels, the pages and the menu, and removes them again.
* Light and dark schemes with a switch, four style variations (Evening in Lisbon, Kyoto, Berlin, Amalfi), gentle animations that respect reduced motion, structured data for search engines, fast and accessible.

Course details are stored with the free Secure Custom Fields plugin: Parlo offers to install it with one click. Everything else is built in.

## Frequently Asked Questions

#### Do I need any plugins?
Only Secure Custom Fields (free, by WordPress.org) for the course and teacher details; the theme installs it for you with one click. WooCommerce is optional: link a course to a product and the Enroll button adds it to the cart.

#### How do I add a course?
Courses → Add course. Write the description, set the course image and fill in the Course details: price, schedule, curriculum, start dates, teachers, reviews. Pick the language (Subjects) and the CEFR level (Levels) in the sidebar.

#### How do I show the languages a teacher teaches?
Add a custom field `parlo_languages` to the teacher with short codes separated by commas, for example "IT, EN". Teacher cards show them as round badges.

#### Where do form messages go?
To wp-admin → Messages, and by email to the site's admin address. Change the recipients under Messages → Settings or in the form block's settings.

#### How does dark mode work?
The switch in the header follows the visitor's system setting until they choose; the choice is remembered. The Evening in Lisbon style variation makes the site dark for everyone.

#### Can I turn off the animations?
They switch off automatically for visitors who prefer reduced motion, including the hello marquee.
