A loud, playful block theme for podcasters, newsletter writers, musicians and creators, with a podcast player, episode cards and a link-in-bio page built in.

== Description ==

Encore is neo-brutal pop on warm paper: ink outlines, hard offset shadows that move when you press things, sticker badges, wavy edges, gooey morphing blobs, marquees and glossy buttons with a liquid sheen. It is built for shows, newsletters and creators who want a home base that feels like them, and it needs no plugins.

= Made for podcasts =

* **Podcast player.** Every Audio block becomes a big, friendly player: play/pause, a scrubber that shows what has played and what has loaded, elapsed and total time, back 15 s and forward 30 s, playback speed (1×, 1.25×, 1.5×, 2×), keyboard and screen reader support, and it remembers where you stopped. Only one player plays at a time. Without JavaScript the browser's own controls stay. Choose the "Browser player" style on an Audio block to keep the native controls.
* **Episodes.** Posts with the Audio post format are episodes. They get the Episode template automatically: a header card with the cover art (featured image), the episode number (taken from the title, e.g. "Episode 12: …"), date, length (from the audio file) and the player, followed by the show notes. Timestamps at the start of list items or paragraphs in the show notes (12:30) become buttons that jump the player to that moment.
* **Episode cards** with cover art, number, date, length and a play button that plays the episode right there, with a floating "now playing" bar.
* **Listen on** buttons for Spotify, YouTube, Patreon, SoundCloud, RSS, Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts and Overcast.
* **Link in bio.** A "Link in bio" template (no header or footer) and a matching page pattern with an avatar, chunky link buttons, socials and a newsletter form.

= Built in =

* **Forms**: contact, newsletter signup and a guest application form. Messages are saved under Messages in the dashboard and emailed to you.
* **Galleries** with Masonry and Carousel styles and a lightbox slideshow.
* **Video**: a background-video hero, featured videos for posts (YouTube, Vimeo or a file), click-to-load YouTube and Vimeo embeds.
* **Motion**: entrance animations, marquees, floating stickers, count-up numbers. Everything calms down when the visitor prefers reduced motion.
* **Light and dark**: a "Midnight Pop" dark scheme with a toggle in the header; each style variation has its own dark palette.
* **Reading**: reading progress bar, table of contents, share buttons, reading time, related posts.
* **Style variations**: Pop (default), Midnight Pop, Pastel, Riso (two-color risograph look) and Mono.
* **Patterns**: 6 heroes (big type, latest episode with player, host duo, marquee words, background video, featured story), episode grid and list, hosts, sponsors marquee, membership tiers, reviews wall, tour dates, FAQ, galleries, video sections, forms, post layouts, calls to action, footers and full pages (About, Contact, Live and photos, Watch, Podcast landing, Link in bio).
* **Templates**: blog home, single post, Episode, page, archive, search, 404, and the custom templates Landing page, Link in bio and Wide page (no title).

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= How do I publish an episode? =

Create a post, set its format to Audio (Post settings → Format), add an Audio block with your file and set a featured image as the cover art. Put the episode number in the title ("Episode 12: …") to show the EP sticker. The Episode template is used automatically.

= Where does the episode length come from? =

From the audio file's details in the media library. Files uploaded to the media library have it; for files hosted elsewhere you can provide it with the `encore_episode_seconds` filter.

= Where do form messages go? =

Every submission is saved under Messages in the dashboard (with an unread count) and emailed to the site's admin email address. Change the recipient under Messages → Settings, or per form in the form block's settings ("Send to").

= How do I add a featured video to a post? =

In the post editor's sidebar, open the Featured video panel and paste a YouTube or Vimeo address, or choose a video file. The single post template shows it instead of the featured image.

= Can I turn off the animations? =

Visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a calm site automatically. To remove an animation from a block, open the block's Motion panel in the editor (or remove its sk- classes).

= How does dark mode work? =

The site follows the visitor's system setting, and the sun/moon button in the header switches between light and dark (remembered on that device). Choosing the Midnight Pop style variation makes the site dark for everyone.

= Why do I see a cart icon in the header? =

WooCommerce adds its mini cart and account buttons next to the navigation of block themes. Encore styles them to match; you can remove them in the Site Editor.
