Overview
A cinematic product stage for hardware: spotlight heroes, very large expanded type, sticky scroll storytelling, big tabular specs, models and a spec comparison table.
Kilowatt is a dark-first block theme for hardware products and devices: headphones, chargers, e-bikes, cameras, wearables and smart-home gear sold direct. Products stand on radial spotlights, headlines are set in huge expanded Archivo, and the story scrolls past a product that stays on stage.
- Product spotlight hero with spec chips, plus a film hero (Cover block with a video loop and a poster), an "Order now" split hero with model chips, a hotspot hero with numbered markers and a legend, a finishes hero with color swatches and a hero built on the latest firmware release.
- Sticky scroll story: the product stays in place (CSS
position: sticky) while chapters scroll past; where the browser supports scroll-driven animations, chapters fade in and out. Everything is visible without JavaScript and with reduced motion. - Specs in big tabular numbers, a full spec sheet, "In the box" check list, press quotes and wordmarks, a companion app section with App Store and Google Play badges, a shipping/returns/warranty FAQ.
- Models as pricing plans: the Pricing block shows one-time prices without a billing switch, and the Comparison block becomes the spec table.
- Forms without plugins: support/contact form, reservation (pre-order) form with a live count, inline launch-news signup. Messages are stored under Messages in wp-admin and emailed to you.
- Galleries and video: masonry and carousel galleries with a lightbox, a click-to-load video grid, a film spotlight and video with text.
- Light and dark: dark by default with a hand-tuned light "Studio" scheme and a switch in the header; style variations Studio, Ember, Arctic and Graphite each bring their own light and dark palettes.
- Templates for features, integrations ("Works with") and firmware notes (changelog), with category chips and search.
Built on the Symelo landing foundation (features, integrations, changelog, pricing plans, testimonials, FAQ, app badges, device frames) and the Symelo Theme Kit (forms, motion, galleries, video, color schemes, demo import). Secure Custom Fields (free) edits the product fields; everything shows without it.
Questions
Where do form messages go?
Every submission is stored under Messages in wp-admin and emailed to the site's admin address. Change the recipients under Messages → Settings, or per form in the block settings.
How do I set up my models and prices?
Add a Pricing plan per model (Pricing plans in wp-admin): the price as the monthly price, "one-time" as the unit and no yearly price, so the cards show no billing switch. Plan features become the specs on each card and the rows of the comparison table.
How do I show a product video?
Use the "Hero: product film" pattern and replace the video in the Cover block, or set a Featured video on a post or feature (document sidebar).
Can I turn off the animations?
Visitors who ask their system for reduced motion get no animations, and the sticky story simply scrolls. Remove the motion classes in the block's Motion panel to turn them off for everyone.
Does it have a dark mode?
Dark is the default. The switch in the header changes to the light Studio scheme and remembers the choice; the Studio style variation makes light the default.
